Maintaining Mental Health is Mentally Exhausting.

Figuring out how to get to the top is what most of us resellers dream of doing, isn’t it? The road may be long, but it definitely clears up along the way! Today I’d like to talk about my lack of being present lately, the break I’ve taken from mental health, and (in a post coming soon to you!) why being ‘Top-Rated should be your number 1 goal when selling on eBay.

Let’s get started!

Thank YOU For Your Patience!

Firstly, I’d like to genuinely thank each and every one of your for your continued patience while this blog had a bit of separation from its owner.

Unfortunately, I needed to step away for a few sessions to get my reselling biz, well, back in biz!

This came with the trusty old help of my best friend and husband, kicking me into gear with it all. (Remember that accountability partner we talked about before!?) Go and get you one of those!

*And Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!* (Or Galentine’s Day!)

Way back at the beginning of this all, I listened to the Google Gods and decided that sticking to a schedule was the best for all worlds. I decided that producing content of some type was better than producing no content at all.

While I’d like to disagree with the most recent comment I got, (“Shelby, you’re only good for producing around 4 hours of creative content at a time before your brain goes into overdrive.”), this got me thinking…into exactly that overdrive state of mind.

Is it the overdrive section of our brain that does the best job? Is it the most active and revved up portion of ourselves that is just waiting to arrive at the perfect time?

Perhaps we focus too much on work being turned in on time. I mean, from preschool until college and beyond this is what we’ve been told on an all too regular basis.

With an increasing amount of creative minds on the rise, I’d like to start thinking at the top of my game more often, wouldn’t you?

Ready, Set, Slow Down.

I’m all for the daily meditation, stretching, 4 am workouts, and blender full of green smoothies along the way. But the truth is, some of us just don’t have time for all of that ahem, extra.

It’s nice, relaxing, and peaceful to listen to those words on zen flowing into your brain, but when it comes down to it, do you really have those extra mental minutes to spare?

I’m wishy-washy about this whole subject. Let me tell you why.

As I’ve grown and developed into the okay human I am today, I’ve discovered a few things about myself, as well as my business.

I *still* don’t like getting up before 4 am. (But I love it once I get my body moving). Unfortunately, the hubs won’t budge, therefore forcing me out of my slumber in the wee hours of the dark and quiet morning.

Although the brand new light bulbs are rather blinding and the oh-so-tasty beet smoothie takes a few more minutes to kick in, I have to admit that I feel my absolute best when I follow this routine. And why wouldn’t I? It’s like a jumpstart to your brainstem.

However, the daily ritual of keeping up with the keto-friendly lunches and the just okay (to frankly terrible), tasting smoothies, just doesn’t help win the race.

It’s exhausting to have to stick to this every single day of your life, which is why lately, I’ve decided to switch it up a bit.

I’ve taken a solid break from all the mental freedom that I’ve been practicing, and have gotten back to work…in overdrive.

I use that extra time to buckle down on things around the house, building my teeny empire, and yes, even prepping those fun meals for later in the week.

Simply said, don’t overdo it. In business, in mental wellness, in running a mile, you name it. Life is a marathon and we all need to take it one step at a time.
