Take a Look Around
The world is changing folks, and minimalism is a real thing these days. With all the gadgets and gizmos, (aka, the fun words for tools), that are out there in the world, it’s hard not to want like, one of everything!
However, all of these things add up in your home, (and quite frankly in your wallet as well), and can make a whole lotta clutter happen. The good news is though, that doing your research and having the right tools around, can really skyrocket your business in more than one way.

Think about it, do you have the necessities already? Probably. (I’m talking a chair, a laptop, a phone, perhaps a make-shift desk of some sort). Well, let me tell you. If you’re going to make it in the big leagues (I’m not sure why I’m saying this, cause I am by no means in the “Big Leagues!”) Anyways, if you do though, you’re going to have to invest just a tad, into tools that are going to make you more comfortable.
Comfort is Key
Now, if we were all super duper comfy all the time, we likely wouldn’t get any work done!! However, being comfortable and not stiff, or sore, is going to be a big help nonetheless. You see, I’m writing this post today, after determining that I’m at the point in the timeline of my business that I have to actually shell out a few more dollars. No fun. I don’t like this part! *Sighs*
But, after fighting a whole bunch with my thermal printer for months on end, see (my past post here describing just that), I made the big change of trying something new. This is, instead of being frustrated with my frumpy old tools that are just slightly getting me from point A to point B, maybe I might just have to invest a little at this point, back into my business.
I also have had some pretty annoying back and neck pain as of late. It’s nothing major, but I can totally guess that the rickety old chair I use, isn’t really helping matters. Enter, “Hey Alexa, find me the best black Friday deal on an office chair.”
Sighs again! I don’t think many of us like spending our profits, I know I don’t at least. But I can definitely say for sure, that frankly, I am tired of being uncomfortable and cranky. This is partially because well, hellooo holiday season! Ugh. The holiday season and I totally have a love-hate relationship. But it is also because I’ve been putting off and putting off, having the right set of tools for my job.
Tools, what tools?
What tools you may ask am I speaking of? We are resellers! Not woodworkers! Well, every job has its own set of useful tools, and I’ve come to the conclusion that we resellers, have a few of our own, too.
Let me tell you about what I think these tools might include:
- A really really good office chair! Your back…and butt, will thank you. (Or a super cool standing stool!)
- A more than mediocre laptop or desktop.
- Speaking of desks, one of those, too! Nothing flimsy now. You’re gonna need some sturdiness for the next tool on the list!
- A printer that doesn’t give you headaches all the time, go big or go home. Bigger ones are more bulky, but they also get the job(s) done. (Think multi-use)
- And along with printers, get yourself a handy dandy thermal printer. I highly recommend the Rollo. Check out their site here.
- A digital scale, to weigh all those super duper amazing piles of packages you’ve been selling! I really like this one, and it’s affordable.
- A very comfortable mousepad like this one I love, and keyboard pad. Keep your wrists comfy, they’re going to be making you all the monies after all.
- An aesthetically pleasing work area. I’m talking, splurge and get that cute little mini succulent if you want. Trust me, it’s peaceful and worth the few bucks.
- A good pen. By golly, get yourself a good pen for Pete’s sake. It’s practically your right hand man. Here’s a nice pack for just over $5.
- A mini trash can, that could also have a little bit of cuteness to it. Keep it beside (or under) your desk to keep all that trash where it belongs! (Ahem, not piled up on your desk!) Oh my goodness though, just look how adorable this one is.
Last but Not Least
Optional: A seriously good phone. This (along with many things above) are still on my list of tools to save up for. Your phone is basically your business’s lifeline, and let’s face it, you’re going to be using it the most for certain. It’s worth it to invest in a nice one, with a nice camera (so you don’t have to spend any extra on one of those too!), and one that has optimal storage space and options.
You don’t want to have to keep going through your apps and such every month to see what you can delete again. (Trust me from experience, it’s not that exciting. And also quite a large time sucker!) Make sure it’s a durable bugger, too. You don’t want it to accidentally drop on that vacay in the sun you’ve been saving up for and not be able to reach your customers. I’m sure both you and they wouldn’t be very happy about not being able to keep in touch, you know, since they’re paying you for your stuffs and all.
Summary
To say the least, it’s easy to get caught up in all the shiny things. But seriously, these tools will help you save oodles of stress and essentially dollars, as well. If you take the time to research what you really want, and what is going to be worthy of your hard earned cash, it’s going to be worth it in the long haul.
Make sure you’re only buying what you need, when you need it. I repeat, don’t go cray cray. If you feel like you can hold out a little longer, by all means, do that. But, if you’ve been pulling your hair out recently like me, and just need to do the darn upgrade already, please, just upgrade. You’ll be thanking yourself, I promise.
These tools are not intended to be purchased all at once. Heck, you don’t even need to purchase them all if you really don’t want to. That’s the beauty of reselling, you decide things, you’re the boss, remember? If you wanna rough it with your everyday items, go for it! I just wanted to create this list for us, to remember that reinvesting back into your business, or yourself, can sometimes be worth it.
Being comfortable means you are more likely to be happy and less stressed, meaning that ultimately, you’ll probably get more work done. And when you’re getting more quality work done, on your quality gizmos and gadgets, you’re probably going to make that reinvestment back a lot quicker. When you’re ready, have at it! But until then, get to work! You need to save up for those tools that are going to make your life easier.
