3 Things I’ve Learned This Week Working From Home

Working from Home? Here’s a few things I’ve learned so far:

Hey friends! So if you were here to read my recent posts, you’ll know that I’ve been considering a new post series for the weekly Thursday slot. I mentioned that I felt this was a good time do a little switcheroo since that post marked about 6 months since starting the Top 10 Weekly Sales! Holy cow it’s gone by quickly!! Check the most recent one out below if you’re interested in learning what they were!

However! I’ve had a few people mention that the Top Ten Sales has really helped them to see what’s selling, so I’ve decided to continue on with that series as well as this new one. The Top Ten Sales posts will be on Saturdays, since this new series is taking the Thursday slot. Thank you for your patience as I adjust things!

So, we have begun a new mini series. These posts will focus on the 3 most important things that I’ve learned as a reseller, (that also works from home as a blogger), and why I value them. I will also explain how I plan to implement them into my everyday full-time reselling business, and how I feel they’ll benefit my brand. I hope you enjoy this new series!

Please feel free to drop any comments or suggestions below in the comment box, so that we can discuss and share similar topics of interest! Thanks for reading!

Always Be On The Lookout

So, you may already know that the more you learn, the more skills you have under your belt, the better off you’ll probably be. It always pays to keep learning, and while you’re at it, be on the lookout! Always keep your eyes peeled for more opportunities, more contacts to meet with, and more places to discover. You never know where they may lead!

If you’re searching for some cost-effective options to enhance your already awesome catalog of skills, I recommend trying out YouTube or Google first and foremost. While this may be stating the obvious, often times I think we take for granted how easily we’re able to grow at the touch of our fingertips.

Sure, there’s probably college level classes for most things, and I highly suggest it for some! However, as a reseller, blogger, housekeeper, gardener, pet mom, canner, (the list goes on!), I’ve figured most things out on my own, and I like it that way! A lot of new things you may be interested in, can probably learned for free most times through the use of YouTube, or Google.

Both have helped me immensely in furthering my knowledge on not only household tasks, but also business skills as well. It’s easy to get lost in the endless videos or articles, so be sure to focus on the ones that matter to you most.

Any time I hear a word I’m unsure of, or a quote from someone, I look it up. Remember that we have it way easier than our grandparents to learn these days! Research has never been easier, so let’s use it to our advantage!

Always PRE-ORDER Your Supplies!

Seriously, though. This can get messy if you don’t keep on track. Get yourself a cool notepad or planner, so that nothing runs out. I try to stay on top of this, and succeed at it most of the time, but as a human, we do make mistakes now and then!

Recently, I ran out of a specific polymailer bag. These ones to be exact! They’re quite nice and the material is perfect. It’s heavy duty enough to not tear easily, and it doesn’t have a smell like some of the other brands do.

This was a bummer. I use these ones most often, since I ship mainly clothing. They’re the absolute perfect size for most items! I love them. You know you’re a reseller when you get a kick out of items fitting perfectly into the polymailer bags.

I can’t be the only one! Let me know what your favorite ones are in the comments below!

Last week, I texted my mom this: “I just feel like I’ve finally crossed into (I need an actual adult planner) time in my life.”

I usually like to use the Notepad app on my phone, or a plain or paper tablet. However, I’ve been getting much busier lately, and it’s simply time to get more organized, so that I’m not forgetting small things like ordering more supplies.

Here’s a few of the planners I’m looking into:

I’ll let you know which one I end up going with, and how it’s working out for me! Which ones do you guys like the best? I’m all ears!

Always Stay Organized!

This obviously goes without saying after the last section! Since I’ve started working from home, I’ve become a whole lot more organized. It became necessary at a certain point, and since I try my best to keep work and personal rooms separated, this became even more important.

I highly, highly suggest trying your best to keep your spaces separated. Doing so can give you a better peace of mind whenever you’re working, or just trying to relax and hang with your family. At first, I had random clothes strewn throughout my home, shoes that needed cleaning in multiple corners, and giant piles of IKEA bags ready for my next thrift trip.

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio from Pexels P.S! Check out this link for some kick-butt pricing on IKEA bags and have them shipped to your door! No need to drive to the store anymore, let them come to you!

Nowadays, I keep all of my office items in one corner of one room, and all of my shipping supplies in one space, all clothing in one area, and the same goes with shoes, etc. By having better systems set up around you, you will more likely be able to get your work completed for the day, at a better quality, and with less stress. Can I get a hoorah for that?!

Your turn! What things in your life could you use a planner for? What tasks could you get more organized in your reselling business? Is there any room for improvement? Let me know in the comment section so we can discuss!
