Products I Love for My Business
Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! In this post I’d like to highlight on my absolute favorite products that really help me out in terms of my business. Reselling is a passion of mine and it’s definitely a bit easier when you have the right tools to work with! (P.S. Check out this super rad tee that mentions some of my personal favorite things in reselling!)
This is just a handful of my opinions so be sure to keep an eye out for new and useful products along your journey! There’s always new gadgets popping out on the regular, but I’m hopeful that these few will make running your business a little bit easier!
Let’s get into it, shall we?
“As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.”
What are Some of Your Go-To Office Supplies?
A Simple & Personalized Hanger. If clothing is your item of choice to resell, you must have a great hanger to go with it. I just use a simple wooden one as it goes with my branding. (If white and rose gold is more your style, you may want to give this one a look!)
A HANDFUL of roll out measuring tapes. This was something I found to be super useful right from the start. After fumbling with the pull out ones for a time, this kind proved to be much easier to use. I say a handful, because I like to keep one in several spaces so that I never have to waste any time searching for one! Get yourself prepared with a bulk supply here! If you’re more into style, these ones are way cuter!
Ultra Fine Sharpies. This may sound silly I know, but I really dig these ultra fine sharpies when writing out my thank you cards. They make it easy to read on any surface, and force me to slow down while writing to do a better job. (When you realize even YOU can‘t read your own handwriting…)
Paper Cutter. I found the one that I use at Aldi’s on sale for $10 a while back, score! But this one is on sale on Amazon and is very similar while doing the job you need just the same.
Having this product around is a life saver, since I am no artist at cutting things with scissors! It makes cutting anything I print out for my business super basic, and doesn’t require steady hand-eye coordination, as one such as I definitely lack!
What About Storing & For Photographing?
CLEAR Bins. I say clear in capital letters because, well isn’t it clear to see? Who doesn’t like a good old fashioned pun? But in all seriousness, clear really is the way to go. I like these affordable ones from Wal-Mart.
It makes it a thousand times easier to see what you’re looking for when you need to pull 1 or more items from multiple bins. And take it from me, make sure they are all the SAME size and style! If not, you’ll wind up having unsteady bins topple on your head one day! (Not fun).
Light Box. After about a year into my reselling career, I decided to opt in on investing in this small light box from Amazon. This helps a TON whenever I need to do a flat lay, or photograph shoes and hard goods. It’s clean, bright, and doesn’t take up too much space. (The only downfall is that my cat thinks its his super secret hideout…)
Inexpensive Light Set. There is a world of options out there to choose from when finding yourself a light set. I decided I finally needed to purchase one of these whenever no app I could find was brightening my pictures quite enough.
I go to bed pretty early and don’t have that much natural light, so this turned out to be a great investment when I started getting serious about my business. This set that I found from a Youtuber’s suggestion works perfect for me and were pretty inexpensive as well.
What are Your Favorite Shipping Products?
Poly-mailers. Personally, I find that the ones with brand logos, or pretty flowers, etc. are really cool. Unfortunately, I try to keep my expense costs as low as possible.
Therefore, if you’re like me and like to save where you can, check out these plain white poly-mailer bags that I’ve found. They are affordable, and can go with any color tissue paper or branding that you have. Sometimes simple is best!
Clear Poly Bags. These are the bags that I like to use to keep my inventory in. I prefer this brand because they seal, and don’t have a stench like some do. (Trust me, I know this from experience!)
They are easy to work with, have a nice sealing strip that peels off with little effort, keeping your items nice and clean. After I wash or steam, lint roll if need be, and fold my items, I put them in these bags right away for safe keeping until sold.
Bubble Wrap…Of ALL Sizes. I say all sizes, because well, depending on what you sell, this is especially a need for your business. I sell a little bit of everything, mostly fashion. However, if I find something that I just can’t leave behind, and it is a super fragile or one of a kind piece, I may need some wrapping for it.
Depending on the object, you may need the tiny bubble kind of bubble wrap, (the fun popping kind) or the large pieces you may receive in an Amazon purchase. (I save ALL of these! It may or may not drive the hubs a little bit crazy…) Click here to see the affordable version of the smaller bubble wrap that I get from Amazon.
How Can I Give a More Personal Experience?
Cute Thank You Stickers. Having stickers on hand is most certainly not a must. However, I find that adding a cute one that goes with your branding can be quite helpful whenever you need to tape something in a package, or keep tissue paper together.
Stickers are so much more pleasing to the eye than masking tape! Plus it gives you yet another little way to remind your buyer how much you appreciate their business. (I am currently into this style!)
Branded Stickers. I like to have some of these on hand that have my logo on them. They work perfect for covering up my inventory sticker after pulling the item to ship and are much more pleasing to the eye than “0215.” I am fortunate enough to have a top notch printer as a dad! But here are some I’ve found on Amazon that are Made in the USA, and have 4.6 out of 5 stars!
Thin & Inexpensive Ribbon. Pretty ribbon is definitely something not required to run your business. But the pretty part is a total bonus for your buyer! As a buyer myself, I really enjoy being able to open what resembles a gift to myself rather than just a boring old package. (Especially if I forget I bought something!)
Put some effort into making it personal from your brand or business, and make them remember you! Adding just this simple extra touch can really go a long way. (Here’s where I like to purchase mine in bulk supply from.)
FREEBIE! (Literally!)
Shipping Supplies. The super nice thing about using mostly USPS to ship with, would have to be their FREE shipping products. Check out all of what they have to offer by clicking here. I use mostly a combination of their boxes and mailing bags, but they have stickers and other things to offer as well.
Now of course you don’t have to go out right after reading this post and buy all the things. Everything that I currently own for my business was purchased over the course of almost 2 years and some were trial and error. However, since implementing these products into my daily tasks, life has been a little easier, and I hope that it makes it easier for you as well!
Thank You!
