Why I’m Considering Adding a 2nd Reselling Platform

Hello friends and welcome to the chronicles of my reselling career! Where we dive into stories that explain why I make these decisions and how I plan to implement changes going forward. Recently, I watched a YouTube video. That video had a Poshmark seller on it, that sold primarily shoes. Yes, there are several of them, but this one is a closet I’ve not yet heard of. However, he seemed to be killing it on that platform, and only sold strictly on Poshmark. Is it time I thought, to give it another go on 2nd marketplace? So, in today’s post, I’d like to go over the reasons why I’ve been considering adding a 2nd reselling platform…again.

Why I’m Considering a New Marketplace Again

You may have heard a little about this, or perhaps you did not! But Poshmark’s been making some changes since I was last active on their platform, and I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that at one point in time, I was selling on 6 platforms. Yes, SIX! It was a bit hectic to say the least.

Here’s the ones where you could find me in the past:

I would even sell locally given the opportunity to do so.

Eventually, it got a little tiresome leaving active listings on all 6 platforms, since it could get a little messy if I wasn’t keeping up with items that sold and things would start double-selling.

This led me to believing that I needed to take it down a notch, and so I chose then to keep listing on just the top 4. But eventually, I end up just leaving it to good old eBay to carry the weight of the team.

This has worked quite well for about a year or so. I’ve listed only on eBay, at times considering Poshmark here and there, giving Depop a chance or two, yet ultimately, I chose to stick with just eBay.

Unfortunately, eBay can definitely have its highs and lows, and I’ve been experiencing a bit of a slow down, despite my efforts to list more than ever.

So, here’s where change must take place. Sometimes as a business owner, you’ll have to make a pivot. This is the road that I’m currently on, and I’m seriously considering putting Poshmark back in the line up.

Why I’m Embracing Poshmark’s New Potential

So, yes, the video. The one I mentioned previously, had talked briefly about this app. Oh, yes. I’m talking about the scary world of automation.

(If you want to know what app I’m referring to, comment down below or shoot me an email to find out more, on how you can save by signing up with my referral code!)

If you’ve ever sold on Poshmark in the past, you’ll know that there was a serious stipulation around sellers that opted for automation in their closet, of any kind.

I was on this train as well, and usually chose for sharing my own closet when I was able to. I then hired a VA (virtual assistant) after a while, to assist me in the shares since I was averaging over 1,000 active listings.

This VA was indeed human, and she has been very helpful in her service. Unfortunately, when I let Poshmark go, I had to let her go as well. She was an excellent worker and highly communicative, so I was sad to see it end.

Poshmark has, or had…an extensive rule list. This included the dreaded automation and use of bots of any kind. And although they still haven’t switched that particular rule over to the dark side, people are raving about the platform once again.

So, do I go for it? That’s the question.

As I’m leaning towards operating a more curated, clean, and professional looking closet this time around, it’s going to take me a little more time to input new items. So, since I need to save additional time for spending on that…I do believe I’ll start using said app.

In the end, I’m a businesswoman, running my business in the best way possible. This includes making decisions that accompany time management, pros and cons, and sometimes, risks.

I truly do miss Poshmark, since it was once near and dear to my heart, being the marketplace that started out this whole reselling journey in the first place.

So recently, I shopped til I dropped at my local Goodwill, and decided to start picking up some more items again to sell on this platform.

Make sure you keep an eye out for new listings to come! And if you’re brand new to Posh, welcome!
