Start Your Work from Home Day Early!
Hello there and good morning friends! So, 3:45….A.M. You may be thinking this was a typo, but nope. That is spot on what time 95% of my days start out. It’s not bright out yet, but it sure is early! And I wouldn’t change it for the world. I own it. Below I will chat about why I think it would be a good move for you, too.
Early holds a different meaning for practically everyone and their own schedules. This doesn’t mean it’s wrong, just that everyone and every body wakes up differently, which is completely normal. Trust me, this didn’t happen overnight, and you definitely shouldn’t expect it to. It is a long and grueling challenge for most people, and I commend anyone that tries doing so.
Are you more of a night owl? Try this whole “getting up way too early” thing for just a little while, and see how you like it. (More about all of that at the end of this post!) What could it hurt after all? Sure, you may not see as much of the inside of your eyelids, but you sure will see yourself getting a heck of a lot more done.
What Got Me Started on Rising This Early?
The hubs. He’s pretty cool actually, if I do say so myself. I’ve said it before, but it’s definitely worth repeating. Get yourself an accountability partner. Now, I don’t exactly call him that out loud, he may think I’m weird or something. But! It’s truly magnificent being able to do something that you don’t like along with a friend, a spouse, or family member, instead of just trucking through it all by yourself.
This whole getting up wayyy before the crack of dawn is a lot easier for him, and seems as though it always will be. Some people are just better at that, and that’s completely okay. Makes me kind of jealous actually. I’ve always been more of a night owl myself, and liked staying up late to work on projects before we met. However, since I’ve improved myself to become the complete opposite, let me tell you, I get sh*t done.

It’s A Long Game, Stick With It!
Forcing yourself to change over a few days or months isn’t something that is going to be easy peesy. It has taken me literal years, YEARS, to get to this point. Today though, I love it.
For example, this morning, I decided to quit hitting the snooze button, and tried meditating and stretching for those 20 minutes instead. After that, we went to the gym, (luckily ours is open 24 hours), and I hit a new personal record because I was awake, ready, and in the right mindset. I wasn’t groggy and fumbling like other mornings where I chose to lay around like a blob for that extra time.
Especially since I have extra time to dedicate to myself and get my body feeling good to go for the day. I truly believe that makes a big difference in how you work and how your day plays out, and I’m so happy and proud of myself to have finally gotten myself to this point.
Is Getting Up Earlier Something You Could See Yourself Doing?
I know this is something that not everyone in the universe can hop on board for, and that’s okay, too. Sometimes it just doesn’t work that way. If you can talk yourself into it though, I highly suggest trying it out for 3 weeks.
Why 3 weeks? Some people say that 21 days is how long it takes to break, or form a new habit. This varies of course when you take in personal factors, but it is something I try to stick to when doing anything related to habits. It always seems to make a big enough impact to sway my decision one way or the other by the end of it.
Here are a few options you could use to keep yourself on track:
- Make sticky notes…and a lot of them.
- Get one of those giant white boards and hang or set it somewhere you’ll be able to see it everyday.
- Create lists of why you want to make this change, and what benefits it could provide for you.
- Make a pros and cons list of how this could impact your life and/or daily routine.
- Put a favorite quote or picture of your favorite vacation as your phone background, to keep you motivated and on top of your game.

Are you up for the challenge??
Working from home these days has been something a lot of people have transitioned to. But as resellers, we’ve already had that little luxury.

However, it also makes it way easier to turn on the tv, and take a load off whenever you see a window. This is something I’m working at a little every day to improve my work quality, my office space, and my mindset. Turn off the tv and get to work. Get your business growing and don’t spend so much time watching everyone else get successful, go get that success for yourself.
This is why I’d like to present a challenge to you this week.
For 3 weeks, keep track of your wake up time. (It doesn’t have to be 3:45!) Try to make time in the morning a little more each day for something you love, (aka yoga, reading, crocheting, exercising, etc.)
Make a point to recognize and reflect on how this changes your life, and ask yourself if you’d be up for keeping with it after 3 weeks pass.
After you complete the challenge, comment below with your favorite part about any changes you’ve made to improve yourself and/or your business.
The first 10 comments will then be placed into a random drawing for a chance to win a FREE medium flat rate box of inventory. (If you are not a reseller, but still work from home and would like to challenge yourself as well, no worries! Just let me know so in your comment, and an Amazon gift card will take the place of inventory).
Thank You!
