Working from home is no easy task. Although people might get the idea that it’s a walk in the park, it’s basically the exact opposite (although I do enjoy an occasional walk in the park). I’m sure most of us can relate that we all have bad weeks. Those days where we just want to crawl back into bed and stay there until the next week starts. But, as a reseller, we don’t have the luxury of rough weeks of reselling. We need to keep going, keep hustling, and keep pushing ourselves to be better than the day before.
So, how do we keep going when our work-from-home week sucks? Here are a few tips that have helped me power through those tough days and come out on the other side feeling better and stronger.
Acknowledge the Suck
First and foremost, it’s important to acknowledge that this week sucks. It’s okay to have bad days and bad weeks. We’re human, and we’re allowed to feel frustrated and overwhelmed. Don’t try to push those feelings aside or ignore them. Acknowledge that you’re struggling and that it’s okay to feel that way.
Take a Break from Reselling
Sometimes the best thing you can do when you’re having a rough week is to take a break. Step away from your computer and do something that you enjoy. (You know, without the screen time). Whether it’s going for a walk, reading a book, or taking a nap, (sometimes I go crazy and do all three), give yourself permission to take a break and recharge your batteries.
Create a To-Do List
When you’re feeling overwhelmed, it can be helpful to create a to-do list. Write down all of the tasks that you need to complete as a big brain dump, and then prioritize them based on their level of importance. (They even have fun sticky note pads like this on Amazon)! This will help you focus on what needs to get done and make it easier to tackle those tasks one by one during these rough reselling days.
Set Small Reselling Goals
Sometimes, when we’re feeling bogged down, it can be hard to get motivated. Setting small goals can help you build momentum and make progress, even on those tough days. For example, if you’re feeling anxiety coming on by the thought of listing 50 items, set a goal to list 5 items instead. Once you’ve completed that goal, set another one and keep going. You’ve got this.
Reach Out to a Friend or Colleague
Don’t be afraid to reach out to a friend or colleague when you’re feeling fatigued or having a rough week reselling. Sometimes, just talking to someone else about what you’re going through can help you feel better. It can be as little as your groceries being bagged wrong to as big as a death in the family. They may even have some helpful tips or advice to share.
Take Care of Yourself
When we’re busy, it can be easy to forget to take care of ourselves. But, taking care of yourself is crucial to your mental and physical health. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep, eating well, and exercising regularly. Taking care of yourself will help you feel better and more energized, even on those not-so-great days. Take a bubble bath and detox with a new body scrub or just get some fresh air with your dogs. It helps more than you’d think!
P.S. It’s totally acceptable to order 2 pizzas and sit in bed all day too sometimes. Just remember to balance your self-care routine and to keep up with it!

Remember Why You Started
When you’re feeling undercharged and discouraged, it can be easy to lose sight of why you started in the first place. Giving up on that dream feels all too easy and this is the best time to take a moment to remind yourself of your goals and why you became a reseller in the first place. This will help you stay motivated and focused on the bigger picture. The future you will thank you.
Celebrate Small Wins
When you’re having a tough week, it can be easy to focus on all of the things that aren’t going well. But, it’s important to celebrate the small wins. Did you make a sale today? Did you list five new items? Celebrate those wins, no matter how small they may seem.
In conclusion, working from home can be challenging, and we all have rough weeks reselling here and there. But, it’s important to remember that we can push through those tough days and come out on the other side feeling better and stronger.
As you and your business continue to grow and fail forward, you’ll come to realize that all of the missteps along the way were there for a purpose and were all able to contribute to the learning curve that you’re currently on.
