Hey friendssssss. After a much needed break from the reselling world we live in, it’s refreshing to say that we are back at it and ready to roll into the holiday season! Throughout these 5 weeks of downtime, we planned, we traveled, we camped, we hiked, and we thought about this awesome community that we’re so fortunate to be a part of. So, today, we’d like to dive into a few tips that can save you space and moolah, as well as offer a limited time deal for our online community.
Let’s get into it!
The Future at Rooted Drawers
First, let’s talk about those space and money saving tips. While we were away, we decided that it’s time to start downsizing our current inventory. As with all things in life, this too ebbs and flows, which I have finally come to terms with that it is completely normal!
For awhile, it was hard for me to accept that we were such a small store. So, we grew and grew into what is now a 5,000+ storefront on Ebay.
HOWEVER.
If you check out our store right now, you’ll notice that there is no where near that amount of items listed. This is because we are ready to do some downsizing and sell off most of our stock. If you’re interested in grabbing up any of these items, stay tuned until the end for a blog-friendly discount!
Anyway, space. Space has always been an issue, as I’m sure it is for most other resellers as well. It’s hard to not accept donations or incoming inventory, so reorganizing has been something we’ve gotten very good at over the years!
Up until now, this has not been an issue. We were able to utilize extra space in our home, garage, and shed for inventory that needed stored or shipped. At this time though, we are looking to the future.
What exactly does the future hold for Rooted Drawers?
Well, it holds moving someday, (hopefully next year!), which would be a very big task to move all of those 5,000 items. Therefore, we have decided to downsize our stock and start thinking smaller in terms of storage space.

Here’s a few things we’re going to be using to make storing items just a little bit easier.
- Mesh laundry bags for lots
- Plastic labeling tags for bags of items
- Clothesline to hang lightweight items on
- Mesh standing bags for sorting/organizing
- Kitchen storage baskets for hanging on the wall (think about accessories, small items, jewelry or giveaway gifts)
- Plastic storage totes with drawers (not bins) – this is the only exception to not folding flat, but is still lightweight
All of these options can be stored flat or folded! They also weigh almost nothing so if you have to move them you won’t be struggling with a bunch of additional weight from the item itself plus your products.
Obviously lidded bins, shelving units and heavy duty items such as these can be helpful if you have a long-term place to store your inventory. They’ll stand the test of time and are durable enough to be worth the investment. But if you are working toward an inventory storage area that can be easily relocated and won’t break the bank, these are some good options to consider.
What We Currently Have
If you’re just getting started and considering more reselling in your future, we’d like to be a part of that.
We’re holding a sale of $1/item. Shipping will be just $25 per $100, leaving you room to profit off the items in your lot. We will be selling these at 100 items per lot, so just let us know ahead of time if you’d prefer more items and we can make sure we set aside enough product for your store.
You may be wondering what is available! We got you.
At this time, we have:
- Thousands of womens and mens clothing
- Several hundred baby/youth/teen/young adult clothing
- Over a 200 pairs of mixed shoes
- Over 100 accessories
- Over 300 pieces of jewelry
- Several thousand hard good or home decor items
In most of these categories, vintage or antique items may be included.
All items would be guaranteed in good, great, excellent or new with tags condition. The box of 100 would be mixed, unless you have a request in which we ask to please reach out via the comment section or a message via email. ([email protected])
*Please note that hard goods/breakables/glassware sets and similar items may vary in weight and shipping capabilities. Therefore, depending on what you are in search of, these categories are subject to change.
Reselling as a Side Hustle or Full Time Gig
As we moved through the options of how to reorganize again, it was a lingering thought to sell off all of the items and close down the store until a viable option opened back up to store the items again.
BUT.
Reselling is still one of my passions. And I just don’t think I could ever live without it.
Therefore, we have decided to include you all in our endeavors of this downsize, and are hopeful that we can help out up and coming stores to build their inventory as we once were 8 years ago.
Reselling has been a refreshing addition to our lives, even though it’s included its own ups and downs along the way. Don’t be fooled by the “work from home and everything is easier” jargon you hear on the web. Some days, it’s a blissful breeze and other days it’s the most annoying thing you have to deal with.
Through all of that though, I stand by becoming a reseller. Even in 2024 when it is more popular than ever before. Even when others online say it’s not possible or that the market is oversaturated. Trust me, it IS possible if you are willing to work on your store.
If you don’t see reselling as a full-time gig, I still encourage you to try it out as a part-time hobby. Get yourself a kickass side hustle store name and get listing.
Oh, and if you need some inventory to start that success, hit us up.
