Resellers are Creative Thinkers. Are You One of Us?

Where does your story begin? What inspired you to embark on your reselling career?

Is it something that just came out of the blue? Have you been reselling in some way, shape or form your whole life?

Today, I want to tell you a little bit about my own story, and encourage you to do the same in the comments below!

I love hearing about your challenges and triumphs that you’ve faced, and am hopeful that this blog has helped your journey just a little bit so far.

Thank you for reading!

Reseller Right Away

Looking back, I can see now, all the different times in my life that I had that little reseller spark ignited.

It’s funny how you never notice those kinds of things until it’s purely in hindsight.

I used to sell everything and anything that I could. (Just ask my family). They were probably so annoyed with me, constantly haggling them to spend a nickel here, or a quarter there.

Phew, just think how I felt when I got to go around asking for the big bucks! (Dollars, y’all!)

I tried selling popcorn in a styrofoam cup. I tried selling mud pies. Legit mud pies. Yes, really.

I tried selling individual candy, and cups of pop that I’d poured.

I even made several things throughout the years, in terms of writing. Guess that had a spark back then too, eh?

I created newsletters with a friend, and a fitness challenge program, and poems and phrases and all sorts of things.

Any way I could find to make that moolah, I was in.

Ramping it Up

When I got to be a teenager, I went around bothering my family and friend’s families yet again.

I would offer car washes, detailing, snow shoveling, you name it. If I could figure something out, I was game.

Then I became a young adult, and the list kept going. I would trade driving friends to work in college for a case of beer or dinner somewhere.

I would take their old furniture or electronics out of the way, (since I was the only one with a larger vehicle), and try reselling it down the road at the pawn shop or thrift store.

I still resell clothes, even though I’ve slowed down on some hard goods due to space.

BUT! Even back then, I would still frequently raid my closet and resell some clothes to Plato’s Closet or the local thrift store that also had clothing available.

You may find this next point weird…I definitely did.

A lot of my friends in college would legit THROW OUT CHANGE. I was flabbergasted.

I know this may not sound like a lot, and perhaps you do it too. Hey, whatever floats your boat, you know?

But I would go around collecting what I could from friends that quite literally threw it in the trash, and would walk that nice little chunk of change down to the teller. Little work, easy pay.

Resellers Come in Many Forms

Let’s take my dad for instance. He’s a scrapper. He loves to scrap and all things scrapping related.

I’m sure we all know someone like this. Personally, I don’t have the patience for it. But I admire how he does, and that he thoroughly enjoys doing it.

Resellers have a different way of looking at the world.

We see pots of gold where others just pass by. We see beauty in refurbished, refinished, or recycled items.

We embrace the hunt, and relish in our discoveries. We trample over heaps of trash, just to get to the treasure.

We’re a different breed, that’s for sure. And as a true born reseller from the heart, I highly encourage you to join the crazy train we’re on.

It’s freeing, fund-building, and overly gratifying.

What are you waiting for? Start your reselling career today and embark on the freedom of being your own boss.

It takes little to no startup cash, and the freedom you gain will forever be worth it. What do you think?
