So, they’re not really that super duper top secret, but it did take me a little bit of time to figure them out! Lucky for you, I want to share my knowledge on bulk buys and help grow this awesome little part of my reselling universe! Let’s dive right in!
Here’s a quick overview about this company. They focus primarily on vintage, and they’ve been in business since most of us newer resellers were in diapers. It’s been awhile! 1992 to be exact. They got started in Atlanta, GA, and were the first to branch out into the vintage franchise clothing system, pretty cool! If you’re starting out as a new reseller, this may not yet be for you as the minimum order is $500.
These guys are my TOP go-to, number one, super awesome first place on the list, because well, they’re all that and a bag of chips, if you ask me. Getting in touch was as easy-peesy as easy-peesy could possibly be, and I was extremely appreciate of the fact that Eric, the guy with all the chips, not only emailed me back super quick, but also provided a phone number to reach him immediately to talk about more in depth what I was on the hunt for.
It Pays to be Personable
I was really impressed and grateful that I could speak on the phone with someone rather than just email back and forth a billion times. It made the whole process much, much easier, and a whole lot faster, too. He was extremely knowledgeable in all things vintage, modern, you name it. Not only did he explain what they had to offer in detail, but he also helped me plan out a great custom box to get me started out. They even have a pricing list that you can download and print out if you desire, to keep on hand when you are running low and need to start thinking about another box.
The Clothing Warehouse was also really helpful in the sense that he (Eric) asked about my business in particular, what worked best for me so far, what platforms I use, and gave me some really good insight on how to keep up the good work and improve my store(s). This was a cool, personal touch that I think really hooked me on trying out their inventory.
I genuinely appreciate, (as I’m sure most people do), whenever not only is the person/company you’re looking to invest *hundreds* of dollars into, nice, kind, and helpful, but also makes sure to make it about your business. Repeat customers are formed with great intentions, excellent customer service, and remarkable goods. I can definitely say that I’ll be one of them!
Here is your quick overview! JOMAR got started with wholesale wayyy back in 1967. They started in the textile business, and has been family owned and female led ever since. Coolness! They are based in the Philadelphia area, and offer a large variety of inventory to choose from. JOMAR also a lot of different ways to buy, (starting at packs of 10!!)which can be really beneficial if you are just starting out and can’t yet invest in a large pallet. (They have those too, though!)
JOMAR is runner up on my list, because although they do offer vintage as well, they focus mainly on liquidations, or closeouts from big box stores.(Think J. Crew, Banana Republic, Lululemon, Nike, you get the picture). This is helpful to supplement my store(s) with a variety of items, from all decades, store categories, and price points.
Quick overview! So these guys are actually based out of Philadelphia as well! They specialize in all sizes of vintage fashion all the way from the Victorian era to the 2000s!That is quite a spread!
You can purchase online, or if you’re in the area, you can check out their 14,000 square foot warehouse!!Sweet! You know this is definitely on my to-do list. They offer two different ways to purchase, buying by the pound, or buying by the bundle. Options are always helpful!
I actually sourced from this company first, out of the 3 on today’s list of bulk wholesalers. However, I’d like to try another lot someday when they have some more sales! I recommend adding your email to their list and waiting until they have a sale or a discount day, to help lower your cost of goods a bit. Bulk Vintage also offers three different grades (or conditions), to purchase. They go by Grade 1, 2, or 3. This is helpful to know what you are going to be receiving!
Stay in touch and be sure to subscribe for a future post that covers what the Grading System is all about! It’s a little different from when you were in school!
