What’s up what’s up my reselling friends? Coming at you today with a new day of the week, a new perspective, and an explanation. You see, this week has been a little weird, so I decided to take a reselling hiatus.
You may have noticed my lack of posts Thursday, Saturday and Monday. Taking this little “mini” break was a fantastic decision, and I want to tell you why. (And why you should do the same).
Is It Time For Your Staycation Yet?
Ahh, mini getaways. We all need them now and then, don’t we?
Of course, this typically results in a drop of traffic, a few less likes, or making someone (or Google) upset. Unfortunately, if you want to keep your sanity, you may just have to be okay with those things sometimes.
Often, we can get caught up in the everyday craziness of life, and forget where our head is at. Personally, I’ve had this problem the last week or so. It’s like it’s literally rolled off somewhere and I’m fighting with myself to screw it back on.
Yes, this may sound weird to you, but it’s the best way I can describe how I’ve been feeling as of late.
If you work from home, as a reseller, blogger, or anything else for that matter, you may already know that overdoing it can come easier than working perhaps in an office space.
Sometimes I just get engulfed in writing, reselling and organizing, or boggled down in research and reading.
It obviously is helpful for my business, but detrimental to my state of being. And if my mind and state of being are all wonky, I may as well admit that my business may just be in the same boat.
Breaks of All Sizes
Breaks, vacays, mini getaways…whatever you enjoy calling them, can come in all shapes and sizes. This time, I opted for the good old fashioned “staycation.”
I took off my thinking cap, I set down my computer, and I took a much needed break.
We all need one sometimes, no matter the size. It could be for 5 whole minutes, or 10 long days.
Whatever floats your boat, is what’s best for you.
Not to mention that lately, I’ve been sinking underneath death piles of inventory, after relocating into another larger room of my home.
That’s something to think about. If you are working out of your home, try (hard) to keep your inventory, or work space out of sight and out of mind.
This way, when you need to “go to work,” you actually have a designated place to do so.
I was becoming overwhelmed with the mountains of items everywhere, overtaking multiple spaces. Therefore, I decided to move it all into one larger space, that I could simply “shut out” whenever I was done working for the day.
Your Mind Needs Its Own Break, Too
Speaking of spaces, your brain could probably use some.
This time of year gets me feeling down. Not down in a bad way, down as in I need to slow down.
The summer craziness of long days and lots of gardening and taking care of extra chores than usual is coming to an end.
The relaxing, cozy, feel-good giving fall season is right around the corner, and I am so grateful for it more and more every year that passes.
It reminds me that all things take a break, including the garden, and that at times, it’s good to do the same for myself.
Embrace The Change of Season
Fall and winter are my favorite.
Don’t get me wrong, I adore the spring flowers and the smell of summer rain, but fall and winter just give me the mental space I need to refresh and rejuvenate as I have less activities to partake in and more calmness in my home.
There’s no lawn mowers making noise, just the sound of the crackling fireplace warming me when I pass by.
Taking breaks are something that everyone and everything does, and they are always necessary.
If you’re feeling down, overworked, or just aren’t quite yourself, take a load off, put your feet up, and call it quits for a week.
I promise you’ll feel better than you did.
Thank You!
