Here’s The BEST Way to Ship as a Reseller

Good day folks! Today I want to cover again how we as resellers have the opportunity to get FREE shipping supplies shipped straight to our door! It’s easier than ever, but with the massive amount of shipping delays as of late, I wanted to touch base on this topic again.

Let’s begin!

The Best Way to Ship as a Reseller

If you’re wondering if your shipping system is currently set up in the best way possible, I have to jump in and say it most likely is not. As resellers, we tend to have a little bit of everything, well, everywhere!

Organized chaos…right?

Yes and no. Yes, because I would agree. Most often I can still recognize where an item is or isn’t because usually, I’m the one that put it there…even if it’s in some weird and unlikely place.

No, because efficiency, efficiency, efficiency!

The more time we’re taking up searching high and low for missing items, lost SKUs, or duplicate pieces, the less time we’re spending on taking pictures, listing items, and sourcing for new ones.

It’s simple. The more organized your workspace is, the better off you’ll be when you go to ship. So, let’s get organized together!

Make sure all of your shipping items are in one single area. Don’t clutter up your shipping table with (way too many) measuring tapes, thank you cards, and enough sharpies to sink a battleship. (Speaking from experience here)…

Keep it nice and cleared off, so that when you go to ship, it’s taking you minutes instead of hours. This especially goes for if you have lots of packages per day! That can get messsssy!

Where Can You Get FREE Shipping Supplies?

Let me first lead you over to this post that goes into more depth about free shipping supplies. It’ll answer any more detailed questions you may have.

I’ll summarize it here though, as well!

So, many times, we can get pretty much anything from Amazon. The beast has it all.

BUT! If you are an eBay seller, make sure you are taking FULL advantage of the coupon code you’ll receive every quarter (every 3 months), that allows you to shop their shipping supply center.

Typically, I find these items to be significantly more expensive than other places to shop from, so I’ll most often get items that I know are the best bang for their buck here.

Another great option for any seller on any platform is to head over to USPS’s website. They have a section dedicated to shipping supplies, just for you!

These shipping supplies come free of charge if you’re looking for their Priority options. Unfortunately, these are the only freebies they’re handing out.

However, it’s a huge savings if you decide to grab some of these instead of purchasing some outright from Amazon or the like.

Sure, they may be cuter, but they’re most likely not nearly as cost-effective. Save those hard-earned Benjamin’s for another thrift spree instead!

Get Your Packages Sent Out ASAP!!!

We’ve definitely been in a serious shipping funk since early 2020. This is due to several reasons, but unfortunately, it affects our businesses as well.

My best advice as a seller of 3 years now, is to always make sure to ship as soon as possible. Ship the same day if you’re able, or next day at the latest.

In the time of Amazon and their 2-day guarantee, it’s hard to compete as small business owners. However, if you’re able to beat Amazon’s shipping time, you’ll be sure to stay in your customer’s mind for excellent shipping service.

Most of us have a post office pretty near to our office or home, but if you can’t always make it to one in time, check their website to see how you can schedule a pick-up! (You can even ask for recurring ones, this is what I do now).
