Over time, listing similar items can start to become overwhelming…and frankly, plain old boring. It’s during these times that I so often feel like calling it quits but it’s actually when I like to double down instead. Let’s talk today about why this is the best time out of all to actually push forward and continue listing on ebay! (Despite its repetitive tendencies…eye roll!)
Continue ebay Listing to Stay Competitive
Have you had a few of those days that seem like you’ll never be done with listings? Or maybe you feel like 5 is never enough, or 10, or 20…or even 30! (That’s where we’re currently at with listings per day).
These are the days and times however that you need to keep on listing because you’ll be able to get ahead of your competitors and know that even when you have days that you feel off, you’ll still be able to have listings saved to reach in your draft bank if need be.
Even if you can continue to put one or two extra listings in your draft bank each day, you’ll be increasingly more prepared and more efficient than other sellers in your category. As with most jobs, things can start to get repetitive over time…therefore wearing off the “new” that we all know and love in the first bit of a new gig.
Let’s walk through some tips on how to stay efficient in the listing process even when your sales start to drop. Later on we’ll talk about why this drop may occur.

5 Tips to Staying Effecient in the Listing Process
-
You’ve already got a leg up on the competition, keep it going! Don’t feel pressured to work 24/7, but do keep in mind that there is always someone else out there listing more than you! Just focus on one or two more listings per day and try saving these up for days when you need them most.
-
The eBay algorithm will thank you. By staying consistent with your listing process, eBay will continue to recognize that you are working hard and making it a point to post new items each and every day. (Yes, this includes holidays and weekends! Which is why I highly suggest using your drafts or the schedule feature to plan ahead!)
-
Batch together photo days. Instead of squeezing in the number of pictures you need each day, try batching a bunch of like-items together one day a week, so that you can quickly get through a week’s worth of listings instead of just today’s.
-
Enlist your spouse or a friend! If you’re able to, this is a great way to work together and get more work done in less time.
-
Use the right tools for the job! If you’re sourcing or listing, try using Google Lens for a quicker way to find what you’re looking for. If you’re taking pictures, set the default settings on your phone to the right size and clarity you need. Shipping your sales? Try setting up a more effective shipping station. That way you can reach everything you need quickly to ensure your overall process goes as smoothly as possible.

Why do my 90 day sales total drop even if I had a good sales week?
You may see that this total goes up and down each time you check it on your app or web browser. That’s because this number takes into account your overall sales for the past 90 days so to keep it growing you’ll have to focus on a few things.
Usually, this number will keep going up for us as long as we stay consistent with our listing process. We’ve only seen it drop during days after we missed listing as many or if we had a vacation that no drafts were set to launch.
This can drop when you have a few larger sales as well that drop off the 90 day mark even though you had a lot of smaller sales more recently. Just keep listing! Keep in mind that even the smaller sales can continue to show your store is active and thriving. Don’t discount their importance on helping to push another larger sale in the future!
Let’s recap. To continue climbing your 90 day sales ladder, staying consistent is top priority. You’ll need to stay focused and organized so that missing days don’t even have a chance.
Plan ahead so that you can rely on extra listings in your draft bank on days that you don’t feel up to par to do business as usual.
Even if your 90 day sales do drop a smidge, don’t get discouraged! Continue on your path to eBay financial freedom and you will likely see your numbers rise over your time as an eBay seller.
