7 Minute Read – Reselling to Resellers
What Exactly is a Reseller Anyways?
So, as most of you may know since you are here on my blog…A reseller is simply defined as “a person or company that sells something they have bought to someone else.”
Now, let’s all take a moment and try saying “Resellers reselling to other resellers who are reselling” five times fast. Lols!
A reseller can be big, small, or somewhere in between. It truly is the kind of job that, “it is what you make of it.” What you put into this job, or career if you prefer to call it that instead, will be what you get out of it. Plain and simple.
Reselling has been my passion now for over two years and that passion is still growing for it more every day that goes by. I love it, it being my full-time job nowadays, and I wouldn’t go back to the “real job” world for anything. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that 99.9% of resellers probably feel the same way.
How and Why Did I Become a Reseller?
Since I go into much more detail in these posts, I’ll link to a few below that will delve further into that question.

The Cycle of Reselling and How it Helps Save the Planet!
Reselling has been around forever in some sorts at least. Think about it, even the bigger box stores can be classified as resellers if you look at it that way. They’re buying low from a supplier, and selling for a profit. Hey! Just like us! Although obviously on a much larger level.
Fast fashion has really become a thing of the past lately. A lot of the younger generations are looking to more sustainable and second-hand clothing to wear. This is especially big in the vintage world, where it has quite literally blown up in the last many years.
Just check out Depop and Etsy to see just how much vintage clothing is floating around those shops. It’s madness! Beautiful madness! (I’m a 70s, 80s, 90s lover of all fashion so this is especially exciting for me!)
By using fashion more than once, or upcycling it to create new and unique garments, we’re helping to contribute just a little more by not creating new and useless waste that sits in landfills for eons. And that’s pretty awesome to be a part of.
P.S. Happy belated Earth Day everyone! Let’s help each other and help keep fashion sustainable.
Where to Find Resellers to Buy From
Lately, this has been exceedingly important on my to-do list. As you know, I’ve really been trying to scale up my inventory, not only so that I can create a stockpile to turn to in cases of emergencies, but also to find better items with a lower cost of goods. (COG)
Needless to say after hours and days of searching and list-making, I came across a handful of good ones to reach out to. I started sending emails and making phone calls, in hopes that I could find the best fit to help grow my small business.
*Side Note: I’ll be making a post in the future more in-depth about wholesaling! And, what other helpful tips you can use to find items in bulk around you locally. Be sure to Subscribe so you don’t miss it!
You could even check out eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, and the like, to find bigger resellers that are liquidating some of their items. (This is how I started out, and I recommend trying it out as well if you are looking to branch out a bit). Just type in the search bar for “lots, bundles, boxes, etc.” and you’ll be able to find some great items to get started within your business.
Where to Find Resellers to Sell To
This leads me to mentioning that I’ve now started on the other end of that cycle. I’m no longer the one sourcing from larger resellers, because I, myself, am now the larger reseller. (By comparison, there are still MANY more larger resellers than me! I am just making an observation from where I started to where I currently am now in my small, one-woman business). This makes me super excited and I know you guys can get here, too! Just keep working hard and listing daily, and in a few years, you will be able to say the same!
Therefore, I also have been making some larger (and smaller) lots and bundles in my stores, (primarily on eBay and Mercari), for newer and smaller resellers to choose from. Many of the lots are made with the same size in mind. This is so that not only resellers but also everyone else becomes available as potential buyers as well! This is definitely something I’ve been having a lot of fun with lately, but I suggest waiting until you have enough space to handle more inventory, as it can take up quite a bit of space!
