Working from Home? Here’s a few things I’ve learned so far:

So, we have begun this new mini series. Let me tell you about them. These posts will focus on the 3 most important things that I’ve learned as a reseller, (that also works from home as a blogger), and why I value them.
I hope you enjoy this new series!

If You Don’t Feed The Beast, It Won’t Feed You
So recently, I’ve been taking a little hiatus from listing heavily on eBay. And, as you may know if you regularly follow my posts, that I’ve pretty much stopped selling on all other platforms.
I do still dabble in Depop a bit, probably because I dig that style the most. If you’re wondering what I’m posting on there, check out my profile here.
If you sell on eBay, you know the beast I’m referring to. eBay itself, of course! It needs to have constant listings added on the DAILY, and if you don’t show it some love, it totally takes it personal.
Kind of rude, eBay!
What sucks the most though, is that my store is still recovering from the mini vacay the hubs and I took back in early summer.
How? I’ll tell you…in Monday’s post! So stay tuned.
So, why have I taken this brief hiatus you may be wondering. Well, simply because I’ve been relocating ALL of my inventory from one area to another, and it’s taking some serious work. This in turn has taken the time away that I would typically take pics and upload.
Therefore, for the last few weeks, I’ve just been refreshing old listings, (ending and then “selling similar”), but it’s just not as good as fresh, new, incoming listings.
Consistency is STILL Key
Even though we all need a break here and there, one thing holds true. Consistency. If you take a day off from listing, it will show. If you take a day off from photographing, you’re going to get behind. It’s inevitable.
Reselling is a 24/7/365 kind of job.
And unless you’re working hard during the first 5 days of the week, you can bet that you’ll be putting in some extra hours on the weekend.
Frustrating is more like it, I know. Unfortunately, consistency is something that you have to keep at the top of your list if you are working towards a successful online reselling business, or anything else for that matter.
I’ve slacked a bit since we’ve come back from that vacay, (like, months ago!), and have not put as much effort into listing and photographing, as I’ve taken some time to focus on other aspects of my life, both personally and professionally.
Consistency goes for all things, you see. Whether it’s meditating, reading, acquiring new skills, growing your business. This all takes consistent learning, and slacking off is never ever ever going to be helpful.
So take a day to get your schedule back in order, and remember to follow it as good as you can. Try it for a whole day, then a week, then a month, to see if you can really get back into the swing of things if you’ve gotten into a funk.
Pizza Rolls are NOT a Good Lunch Option
I know, I know. I spend half my time writing and learning about how I love to eat healthy and blah, blah, blah.
Well on one recent grocery trip, I was craving some pizza rolls. Teen me coming out? I think so. I grabbed a bag and made my way home.
Since then, I have eaten this endless bag of pizza rolls for days when lunchtime arrives, and all it does is drag me down for the afternoon. It sucks!
This just goes to show how much good food and improving our diets can really impact our work output.
When we eat healthy, we’re way more likely to accomplish more tasks, and feel better while doing them.
I’m only human! Just like you guys, I understand how hard it is to fight the temptation, especially when we’re working from home!
It’s so easy to just plop in front of the TV, and grab an unhealthy snack. But if you just discipline yourself to having a treat every now and then, you’ll learn that it’s much easier to complete your work in a timely manner, and feel good about it, too.
Get into the right mindset, and try listening to a motivational audiobook like “Can’t Hurt Me,” by David Goggins. It is truly inspirational.
So, gear up and get ready! School’s about to start, and that can only mean one thing for us resellers…
SALES ARE COMING.
Thank You!
