Here’s My 3 Top Tips to Being an Awesome Reseller – Are You Ready?

Hello hello my fellow resellers and resellers-in-the-making! It’s so nice of you to stop by again! Thank you!! Today, I’d like to go over my top 3 tips on how to be an awesome reseller.

I’d also like to know if you would list these as your top 3 as well, so let me know in the comment section below! Cheers!

Here they are:

  1. Give it a Little Extra.
  2. Treat EVERYONE Fairly & Kindly.
  3. Double, Triple & Quadruple Check!

Give it a (Just a Little) Extra Fluff

We all like surprises, right?! Well if you’re anything like me, (or the rest of the population), surprises are a bonus we all secretly love.

What’s really cool, though? Here’s a pretty neat fact you probably didn’t know before now…“Research shows that surprise intensifies our emotions by about 400%…”

FOUR HUNDRED PERCENT PEOPLE.

Like dang. So, just think about how much more likely those customers are going to re-visit your store after receiving a little goodie here and there.

Don’t be boring! Spruce up your package with a simple Thank You card, some branded stickers, or even a little gift. (Just make sure you put some thought into this, as you don’t want to be handing out unnecessary clutter to your buyers).

Think about what they may need as your audience, or do a poll! This way, you know exactly what would make them the most happy to surprised with when they open up your package.

I’m not saying you need to go all high-end, over-the-top and get all flashy like. I’m just saying don’t just throw, squish, or shove your item into its bag/box and slap a label on it. Make it personal, and your customers will thank you for the excellent service.

Treat EVERYONE Like a Rockstar

Yes, I mean everyone.

Even the peeps that stress you out, ask a bajillion questions, and never return to your store.

Doing so across the board will ensure that you are consistently showing fairness, kindness, and empathy. You never know the kind of day the human on the other end of that message is having that day, so don’t assume all of their hostility is geared towards you.

This can be extremely frustrating at times, especially when you’re having a bad day as well. Unfortunately, we have all have our own version of those. Just let them blow over and look past them to the next adventure in your reselling journey.

A good way to handle this is to *once again* be personal in your communications and interactions. Sure, I have a handful of those auto-populated messages since I receive and send many, many a day.

However, when it comes to a problem, a pain point, or a particular issue of this kind, I prefer to keep this more personal, so that my buyer knows that I am on their side and that I am understanding why they are upset.

If you stick to this way of thinking and replying, you will no doubt build up an awesome, return-to-your-store worthy, loyal and happy to shop with you customer base.

Double, Triple, & Quadruple Check!!

This goes for like, everything! Seriously, even when you think you know it all, trust me, you probably won’t!

Reselling is a constant, ongoing, endless learning process. When you decide to make this your career path, it’s hard to know where to start out. But then, you may find a specific niche you love to dabble in, or maybe you just like a little bit of everything!

After you’ve mastered one field of interest, it may seem super easy to move on to the next. (Although I definitely suggest broadening your reselling knowledge, I highly advise against skipping any key info).

Make sure when you switch or add any categories to your reselling rolodex, that you’re scouring information from the former reselling masters and not missing any important information.

ALSO!

Be sure to double and triple check your items as well. This goes for items that may need lint rolled again, or check for tears/stains/holes.

This can also be applied if you’re selling electronics and need to check they’re in working condition before shipping out, and goes for shoes as well. (ALWAYS check the insides of pockets, shoes, and gloves).

When you make this step a part of your already awesome routine, you’ll be sure to provide excellent service, which will reward you with happy customers.

They may even return back if you follow the 3 tips above! Happy selling friends!
