Do You Include a Special Something in Your Shipping?

If you have purchased from Rooted Drawers in the past, you will know that (when they are in stock), I enjoy adding a special item or two to each and every package during the shipping process.

This can be looked at in two different ways. Positively or negatively. I like to embrace the positive side of things, so that’s what we’ll start off with.

I want to explain in today’s post why I try to go the extra mile for my customers, and why you should consider it as well as a reseller.

A Special Little Something Goes A Long Way

Most everyone on Earth likes getting their fair share of freebies and fun “stuff.”

But not a lot of people like including it in packaging. They’re afraid that the customer won’t want the item(s), or will just simply throw out a thank you card, etc.

Well, here’s what I have to say about that.

Did you ever hear the saying, “It’s the thought that counts?” Most likely you have.

So, even if you take the extra few seconds of your day to write someone’s name on their package and personalize it to them, or bulk print thank you cards that add into your expenses, or throw in a little freebie like yours truly here…they’re probably always going to appreciate that little touch of extra effort.

Sure, they’re probably not going to set your cute little thoughtfully crafted thank you card on their mantle, or stick it to their fridge…that’d be weird.

But, they will however be grateful that they were able to purchase from an actual human being that cares about the quality of their items and the appreciation that you have for them for shopping with you in the first place.

Whatever You Decide On Is Good Enough

Meaning simply that, don’t overthink it.

If you prefer to add a thank you card or freebie, then do it.

If you don’t like the idea, or think it’s a waste, well then that’s fine, too.

However, if you do decide to add something special into your package while shipping, make sure you’re not spending hours upon hours thinking about the perfect thing for each individual item.

Making the sale personal and putting your touch of flair on it is one thing; taking precious, valuable time away from other aspects of your business because you want to create the perfect T on your thank you card is another.

Do it with gratitude and with grace.

People will appreciate you showing you care, and most likely will come back again in the future to shop with you.

You could even do a little research on your buyers and see perhaps if they are fellow resellers, car lovers, cat moms, you name it.

Doing so could pinpoint the perfect special something to toss in before you send it off.

A little something means a whole lot.
