Each day is a new challenge, a new gift, or a new disaster. These things can all take form when you work from home and something to, by every means, take into consideration when deciding to start your own business. What’s driving you? The Beginning

At first, it’s all enticing and beautiful and fun, but something changes at a point, where business is still business and work is still work. There’s endless learning, lots of obstacles to overcome, and professional, even personal, pressure that’s put on you to get it together now and then. When working from home was a new thing for me, it was something I desired each and every day. I looked forward to it like the next bowl of ice cream or (insert a few of your favorite things here!). Don’t get me wrong, I still very much enjoy what I do these days, it’s just that the workload and workflow have both changed quite a bit and can be simply overwhelming at times. Working for yourself is a job alone, but working from home is even harder (in my opinion of course). Because if you’re working from home, you’ll likely still have chores that need to be done, pets or animals that need to be taken care of, or kids and family members to attend to during the day. This all goes hand in hand with why the beginning of your journey seems all the better after you start getting into the nitty-gritty of it all.

Rough Patches

Not every business goes through these, at least not everyone I’ve known. But most do, and I’d like to talk about some of those challenges with you in this post. This blog was created and intended to give others full insight into my journey and how I relate my own business to others growing at the same time. By all means, don’t go comparing yourself to every other on the internet when you’re done reading here, (that’s why I don’t have social media!). But please do take note of how you can utilize this to improve and upgrade what you’re already doing so that you have the ability to become more and more successful. When I started out, bliss was a good word. Lots of sales, not as many returns, (because my sales per day hadn’t gone to the number it currently is yet…think of it as growing pains. The more you sell, the more returns, the more complaints, and so on). Now that I have some knowledge under my belt and have been at it a handful of years, I like to consider myself somewhat proficient and competent in working from home. My schedule and time management have taken a sure beating, but I’ve found what works best for now, although I am still learning.

My Best Advice (If You’re Just Starting Out)

I’ve definitely not been reselling or working from home as long as some others have been out there in the world. However, I’m here to tell you that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. Working from your home is something to truly be grateful for. Even though dogs drop bones on your keyboard sometimes, and cats pop up in video calls, perhaps kids unplug things when you need them most…it’s all good. Embracing being in my space more often was something I had to come to terms with. It was weird at first, but I really do love it now, and I’m sure you will too. You’ll be able to get ahead of things around the house, you’ll be able to spend more time with your loved ones, and keep your schedule more flexible than it’s ever been before. Keep forging ahead on your entrepreneurial path, and I promise you’ll come out better on the other side.
